The heat transition is an essential part of tackling the climate crisis. Heat storage is one of the important technologies for ensuring security of supply.
Heat Storage Berlin GmbH, HSB for short, develops and builds heat storage systems. The special thing about it is: "Surplus electricity" from sustainable renewable energy generation is the fuel for the HSB storage systems. This electricity, which is not in demand at the time it is generated, is stored as high-temperature heat. When needed, the energy is then made available as steam or hot water. This enables industrial plants, utilities and municipalities to be supplied with heat in a plannable and sustainable manner. Generation peaks in the power grid are smoothed out, wind and solar energy regulation is avoided, and the load on the grids is reduced.
The founders, Alexander Voigt and Ulrich Prochaska, are engineers & entrepreneurs themselves. They are familiar with many sustainable energy technologies and have worked at Solon AG and Lumenion GmbH, among others. The team currently consists of three engineers and will grow as product development progresses.
The HSB team is happy to share its years of experience with the .GUT community. The plan is still to supply our hall with green heat in winter via a heat storage tank.
